3rd Grade Blizzard Bag Assignments
All 3rd grade students will have two Reading/Language Arts
assignments for each snow day blizzard bag.
1st Day Assignment
1. Get online and go to www.internet4classrooms.com
Click on "Grade Level Help," scroll down to your grade level - "3rd Grade Skills."
Under 3rd Grade Skill Bulders, click on "Language Arts Activities - Common Core Alligned."
Under Grammar, click under #6, "Roots and Affixes"
a. root words - Do #5 quiz (all 3 levels A-B-C), Do #6 quiz (all 3 levels)
b. prefixes - Do #11
c. suffixes - Do #8
Click under #9, "Word Usage"
a. antonyms - Do #1
d. synonyms - Do #8 (online practice #1 & online practice #2)
2. Log into Study Island www.studyisland.com
Do one lesson in the "Reading" section for your grade level to earn a Blue Ribbon.
2nd Day Assignment
1. Get online and go to www.internet4classrooms.com
Click on "Grade Level Help," scroll down to your grade level - "3rd Grade Skills."
Under 3rd Grade Skill Builders, click on "Language Arts Activities - Common Core Alligned."
Under Grammar, click under #9, "Word Usage"
b. homonyms - Do #3
c. homophones - Do #4 & #5
e. usage errors - Do #2, #8, & #9
d. synonyms - Click #10, "Synonyms and Antonyms" - Play both analogy games
2. Log into Study Island www.studyisland.com
Do "Recounting Stories" in ELA, under the Reading Standards for Literature section.
(If you have a blue ribbon in it already, Study Island will suggest you do another topic.
Ignore this and do the "Recounting Stories" again.)
3rd Day Assignment
1. Get online and go to www.internet4classrooms.com
Click on "Grade Level Help," scroll down to your grade level - "3rd Grade Skills."
Under 3rd Grade Skill Builders, click on "Language Arts Activities - Common Core Alligned."
Under Grammar, click under #9, "Word Usage," synonyms
Then click #10, "Synonyms and Antonyms"
Do both "Name the Category" games.
Do both "What's My Name" games.
Do all 3 "Is This Sentence Correct?" quizzes.
Do #2 and #3 Fact and Opinion games.
2. Log into Study Island www.studyisland.com
Do "Main Idea" in ELA under the Reading Standards for Literature section.
(If you already have a blue ribbon in it this year, Study Island will suggest you do
another topic. Ignore this and continue with "Main Idea.")
